Ingredients

Scale

For the Tacos

  • 6 6-inch tortillas
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 12 Tablespoons taco seasoning, or more to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Olive oil, for spraying or brushing tortillas

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: In a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound of ground beef along with 1/2 cup chopped onion until the beef is fully cooked and the onions are softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Season Beef: Drain the fat from the cooked beef mixture. Stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning and 1/4 cup salsa. Adjust seasoning according to your preference.
  4. Oil Tortillas: Lightly spray or brush both sides of each of the six tortillas with olive oil to help them crisp up in the oven. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Fill Tortillas: Place about 1/4 cup of the seasoned taco meat on one half of each tortilla. Top each with approximately 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese if desired. Fold the tortillas in half to form taco shapes.
  6. Bake Tacos: Bake the folded tacos in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, carefully flip the tacos using a spatula and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the tortillas are crispy and the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your crispy and flavorful sheet pan tacos!

Notes

  • Use 6-inch tortillas for the best taco size. Corn or flour tortillas both work well.
  • You can adjust the amount of taco seasoning based on your taste preferences.
  • Feel free to add toppings such as sour cream, diced tomatoes, lettuce, or avocado after baking.
  • Spraying or brushing olive oil on both sides of the tortillas ensures crispiness when baked.
  • If you want extra crispy tacos, bake a few minutes longer after flipping—but watch closely to avoid burning.
