Honey Mustard Chicken Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or meal option. Tender chicken is cooked and generously coated with a tangy and sweet honey mustard sauce, then placed on soft slider buns with melted cheese for a perfect sweet and savory bite-sized treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

Slider Assembly

  • 10 slider buns
  • 5 slices of cheese (such as cheddar or American, halved for sliders)

Honey Mustard Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional for creaminess)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: Start by heating a skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts or thighs with salt and pepper. Cook the chicken in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through and no longer pink in the center. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes.
  2. Prepare the Honey Mustard Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise (if using), apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth and well combined.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Slice or shred the cooked chicken into slider-sized pieces and toss them in the honey mustard sauce until fully coated.
  4. Assemble the Sliders: Slice each slider bun in half. Place a portion of the honey mustard chicken on the bottom half, then top with a half slice of cheese. Optionally, you can place the assembled sliders under a broiler or in a hot oven for a minute or two to melt the cheese slightly.
  5. Serve: Place the top half of the bun and serve the sliders warm as an appetizer or main dish.

Notes

  • You can use chicken thighs for juicier sliders or chicken breasts for a leaner option.
  • Adding mayonnaise to the honey mustard sauce gives it a creamier texture but can be omitted if preferred.
  • For extra flavor, add pickles, lettuce, or tomato slices to the sliders.
  • To melt the cheese, quickly broil the assembled sliders for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • These sliders are perfect for parties, game days, or quick weeknight dinners.
