Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
  • 1/4 cup water

Fillings and Sauces

  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 1/4 cup chipotle sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Wrap and Cooking

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • Butter or oil for grilling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain any excess grease, then add the taco seasoning along with 1/4 cup of water. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes until the flavors meld and the sauce thickens slightly.
  2. Warm the Tortillas: Heat the flour tortillas on a dry skillet or briefly in the microwave until they are soft and flexible, making them easier to assemble and fold.
  3. Assemble the Burrito: Lay a warmed tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a layer of cooked white rice first, followed by the seasoned ground beef. Evenly add the nacho cheese sauce and chipotle sauce over the beef, then dollop with sour cream. Top everything with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  4. Grill the Burrito: Heat a clean skillet over medium heat and sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese onto the pan. Place the assembled burrito seam-side down onto the cheese and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the cheese melts and forms a crispy crust. Carefully flip the burrito and repeat on the other side to create a golden, cheesy exterior.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add diced onions or bell peppers to the ground beef while cooking.
  • Use homemade taco seasoning to control sodium and spice levels.
  • If you prefer, you can brush the tortillas with melted butter before grilling for an even crispier texture.
  • Substitute the white rice with brown rice or cauliflower rice for a healthier twist.
  • Serve with additional sour cream, guacamole, or salsa on the side for extra taste.
